According to Afroyim v. Rusk (1967), the president has no legal authority to revoke citizenship from someone born in the United States. Yet Trump continues to make threats that defy the rule of law, often with impunity. Our constitutional checks and balances are designed to restrain presidential overreach—but when Congress abdicates its responsibility, that system falters.

They weren’t promoting policy; they were appeasing a man who demands loyalty not to the Constitution, but to himself. This narcissism is not just embarrassing—it’s a threat to democracy. His followers, eager to win his approval, shower him with exaggerated praise and adopt the belief that he can do no wrong.

On this Independence Day, I find myself reflecting not just on our country’s founding ideals, but on how far we’ve drifted from them. Today, Donald Trump said of Democrats: “I hate them. I cannot stand them, because I really believe they hate our country.” This isn’t leadership. It’s not patriotism. It’s pure division — and it’s tearing us apart. Over the last decade, I’ve watched countless families break apart, lifelong friendships vanish, and conversations grow silent out of fear that just mentioning his name will spark anger.

In Dictator-led countries like Russia, Hungary, and Venezuela, the Tyrant in charge often eliminates political threats. Apparently, that is how our government in the USA is considering acting also. I guess this new candidate for Mayor of New York city is so popular (I don’t know anything about him), that this threatens Trump’s administration and they are considering ways to revoke his citizenship and deport him to eliminate a potential political rival.

I think people vandalizing Tesla dealerships should be punished. I think people vandalizing the U.S. Capitol and attacking police officers there should be punished. MAGA agrees with me on punishing those who damage Tesla, but they disagree about those who vandalize the Heart of America, our U.S. Capitol. MAGA, ask yourselves why! Can you explain that to me? Why don’t you respect the U.S. law and our police officers? If you support Trump, but say you don’t support those who attacked the U.

On March 20th, 2025, in rants spanning less than 10 minutes, Trump made several statements that raise legitimate concerns about his understanding of constitutional checks and balances of this Great Country, the U.S. of A. First, his statement, “These Judges want to assume the Powers of the Presidency, without having to attain 80 Million Votes” illustrates his desire to convert the USA from a government of laws and a balance of powers into a dictatorship where every whim or desire of a single person should be obeyed without consideration of laws, rules, harms done to others, or any negative consequences.

FACT: The Republican Administration, through Musk and Trump, has made its position clear: “We do not respect employees of the U.S. Government. We will not treat you with the respect and dignity you should receive as a person and as an American.” This is not about performance, it is about power. Take Away: This Republican Administration cannot be trusted to negotiate fairly. FACT: This is not about increasing efficiency.
